After their shared night, Sheri was filled with conflict. The past few days her mind continued to play the moments over, and over, and over. The KISS being her favorite part, the moment he told her to leave being the worst. “Oh– Hey Clay. Um, yeah-” She nodded, her brows knitting together momentarily. “I uh, I can skip German. I think we’re watching a movie anyway.”
“ uh , yeah ” he knew he couldn’t skip school , but he knew this would be one of the only times she’d probably listen . just meet me by my locker during german . we can get out and walk around town , or something , and come back before the next class starts . they agreed and parted ways , each having one more class before they’d meet . during class , the anticipation , and anxiety of their talk came to an all time high , was she just really pissed , and didn’t want to show it , till they started talking . no , she couldn’t , nobody can play that well at not being angry . so as each passing minute went by , he kept thinking of what to say , he wanted to say more than sorry , he knew that wouldn’t do anything . he wanted to get rid of that word entirely . sooner rather than later , the bell rang , louder and longer than clay ever remembers .
they’d met at his locker , like he asked , clay being quieter than he wanted to be . only breaking the silence when they were off of school grounds , and walking away from the school . “ —— sheri , about the other night , i - i don’t know what happened , or why whatever did happen , happened . and i’m – i’m sorry ”
